An incel—an abbreviation of "involuntarily celibate"—is a member of an online subculture of mostly heterosexual men who define themselves as unable to find a romantic or sexual partner despite desiring one.
Incel communities have been criticized for their misogyny, as well as their endorsement and encouragement of violence and extremism.
